SOE Minister Erick Thohir Ensures Airplane Ticket Prices Have Reduced as Instructed by President Prabowo
SEAToday.com, Tangerang - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Erick Thohir ensured that airfares for the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 holiday periods on several national airlines have been reduced by 10 percent.
“I checked Garuda (airfare), it is in accordance and on track, then Citilink is also on track, Pelita Air is also in accordance with the direction of President Prabowo,” Erick said in Tangerang, Banten, Wednesday.
He revealed that the reduction in airplane ticket prices was the result of strong synergy between the Ministry of SOEs and the Ministry of Transportation, as well as full support from President Prabowo Subianto.
So airfares during the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 holiday periods at all airports will ease the burden of the people traveling on vacation and homecoming.
“We also thank Pertamina and airport managers for helping to reduce ticket prices according to the President's Instruction,” he said.
Erick said that in the future, his party and the board of directors of SOEs will continue to monitor airplane fares at the end of each month.
“Hopefully, with the cooperation of each Ministry by compactly providing solutions, we will definitely provide the best service to the community to the maximum,” he said.
Meanwhile, Garuda Indonesia President Director Wamildan Tsani Panjaitan added that his party had reduced flight ticket prices specifically for domestic routes as of December 19, 2024 to January 3, 2025.
The implementation of the policy to reduce flight ticket prices for the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 periods by 10 percent is a follow-up to the direction of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.
Then, he added, for the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 periods, Garuda and Citilink have managed to prepare and reinforced the flight fleet with a total of 98 aircraft.
“For Garuda we prepared 58 aircraft, then Citilink we prepared 40 aircraft,” he said.
