BAZNAS to Build Hospitals, Mosques, Schools in Gaza Recovery Program

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The National Board of Zakat (BAZNAS) is currently preparing a recovery and reconstruction program for Gaza, Palestine. This was stated by BAZNAS Chairman Noor Achmad during the opening of the BAZNAS International Forum on Wednesday (11/20).

"When will we start planning to build mosques, schools, and hospitals in Palestine? As soon as the situation is calm, we will do it," said Noor. "We want to ensure the sustainability of the Palestinian people's lives through empowerment and adequate infrastructure."

He explained that the funds to be used are the donation funds that are still being held for the Palestinian people. According to him, the donation for Palestine titled “Membasuh Luka Palestina” (Washing Away the Wounds of Palestine), which was opened since October 2023, has successfully collected more than 300 billion rupiah. Meanwhile, BAZNAS, in collaboration with several international organizations including UNRWA, has so far successfully distributed a total of 112.1 billion rupiah.
