SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The 2023 State Budget (APBN) achieved a historic milestone by recording a primary balance surplus for the first time since 2012. This was announced by Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati at the plenary session of the House of Representatives on Tuesday (8/20).

Minister Sri Mulyani said that the central government's financial report (LKPP) achieved a primary balance, an operating statement surplus for the first time since the introduction of accrual accounting in 2025, and an increase in government equity without a revaluation for the first time since 2015.

Minister Sri Mulyani attributed these achievements to strong government revenues, which exceeded the target, and robust growth in tax revenues. This accomplishment demonstrates the resilience of the Indonesian economy amidst global pressures and underscores the positive impact of prudent fiscal management.
