LRT to Operate Normally with 16 Trainsets in December, Only 7.5 Minutes Headway!

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Transportation Ministry said that starting December 1, 2023, LRT will operate normally with 16 trainsets so that the waiting time for train arrivals will be shorter.

Transportation Ministry’s Director General of Railways Risal Wasal explained on Wednesday (11/22) that with the operation of 16 trainsets, the waiting time will range from 7.5 to 15 minutes, depending on the crowd during operating hours. Risal also added that there are 3 trainsets in reserve, so a total of 19 trainsets are available.

When it was first inaugurated, LRT only operated with 8 trainsets, resulting in waiting times of 30–60 minutes. To date, 4 additional operational units have been added to 12 trainsets, with a waiting time of 9–30 minutes.
