Israel-Hamas Release Hostages on Second Day of Ceasefire

SEAToday.com, Gaza - A four-day ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza began Friday (11/24) with an exchange of hostages and prisoners. Hamas released 24 hostages, including 13 Israelis, 10 Thai nationals, and a Filipino national. Meanwhile, Israel released 39 Palestinian prisoners on Saturday (11/25). This ceasefire period provides space to increase the flow of fuel and supplies into Gaza.
In the ceasefire agreement, Hamas agreed to release 50 of the 239 hostages in Gaza. In return, Israel agreed to release 150 Palestinians from Israeli custody.
A member of the Hamas political bureau said that they had left open the option of releasing more hostages in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners by Israel. On the other hand, Israel also said it would extend the cease-fire by one day for every 10 additional hostages released by Hamas.
