To crack down on illegal mining, OIKN will collaborate with the police, Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), Higher Prosecutor's Office, and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry to form a joint task force. Meanwhile, for legal mining, operations will remain permitted until the permit period is complete.

In addition, OIKN Director of Forestry and Water Resources Utilisation Development, Pungky Widiaryanto, said that legal mining permits should no longer be extended, nor should new mining permits be granted.
