SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) is implementing weather modification technology to secure the routes that will be crowded with travelers during the Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024 (Nataru) holidays.
BMKG has collaborated with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), the Indonesian Air Force, and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) to implement this weather modification technology.

BMKG estimates that for the period before Christmas on December 17–24, 2023, areas with heavy rainfall will occur in Sumatra, Java, Kalimantan, NTT, Halmahera, and Papua. Then, in the period after Christmas 2023 on December 25, 2023–January 1, 2024, BMKG sees areas with heavy rain intensity shifting slightly, but the potential for heavy rain still occurs in various parts of Indonesia.

BMKG ensures that weather information can be easily accessed by the public and related parties.
