SEAToday.com, Jakarta - After voting in general elections, residents are asked to dip their fingers in ink as a sign that they have voted.
However, for the ink used, there are provisions that must be followed and have been regulated based on the General Election Commission Regulation (PKPU) Number 14 of 2023 about Voting Equipment, Other Equipment Support, and Other Voting Equipment in General Elections.
Rules for Election Ink
- Each polling station provides two bottles of ink.
- The composition of the ink must be safe and comfortable for the user
- The ink has a stickiness of at least 6 hours.
- The ink used is dark blue or dark purple.
Election Ink Requirements
- Has a certificate of safety for use from the ministry/institution in charge of drug and food affairs.
- Have certification of raw material composition testing from an accredited laboratory owned by the government, public or private universities.
- Have halal certification from the ministry or institution in charge of product halal affairs.
