SEAToday.com, Jakarta - PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk through its subsidiary Telkomsat will launch a satellite with High Throughput Satellite (HTS) technology on February 20, Florida time or February 21, 2024 Indonesian time. This satellite will be Telkom's 11th satellite which will occupy the orbital slot 113 degrees East Longitude (113 BT).
Telkom Indonesia President Director Ririek Adriansyah said, "the satellite named Merah Putih 2 will be launched directly from Cape Canaveral, Florida using a Falcon 9 rocket". The Merah Putih 2 satellite with a capacity of up to 32Gbps carries active transponders consisting of C-band and Ku-band frequencies that will cover all areas of Indonesia.
He also mentioned that the Merah Putih 2 satellite is a hope and a form of Telkom's commitment to support equal connectivity throughout Indonesia. Telkom believes that this equal access to information is expected to accelerate the digitization of society in various aspects.
