Thousands of Civil Servants to Relocate to Nusantara Starting July
SEAToday.com, IKN - The New Capital City Authority (OIKN) on Monday (2/12) confirmed that a number of civil servants will be transferred to the National Capital City (IKN) Nusantara in July 2024.
OIKN Secretary Jaka Santos said that the transfer will be done in stages, and will begin when the residences for the civil servants are completed, estimated to be in July. He mentioned that the transfer is not easy and needs careful preparation, especially near the celebration on 17 August (Indonesia’s Independence Day).
OIKN Spokesperson Troy Pantouw revealed that the construction process of the Presidential Office Building in Nusantara has reached 72.19 percent, while government buildings and other supporting facilities have reached 58.21 percent. According to him, all these efforts to accelerate construction are to support Nusantara’s vision as a habitable city that will begin operations in August 2024.
