SEAToday.com, Gaza - The European Union Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell on Monday (2/12) sharply criticized Israel’s allies for arming them with weapons for its military campaign.
US President Joe Biden last Thursday made a comment suggesting that Israel’s military response in Gaza towards the Oct. 7 attack had been “over the top”. In response, Borrell had suggested US and other allied countries to stop sending military aid to Israel amid the mounting death toll of Palestinians. Borrell said it was contradictory for countries leaders to repeatedly state that Israel had killed too many civilians, yet do nothing concrete to prevent the killing. He urged them to “stop saying and start doing something”.
Borell also slammed Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu over his order to “evacuate” one million Palestinians sheltering in the Gaza city of Rafah ahead of the planned military operation.
“They are going to evacuate – where? To the moon? Where are they going to evacuate these people?” Borrell asked.
