Saudi Arabia Allows Marriage Ceremonies in Nabawi Mosque, Masjid al-Haram
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Government of Saudi Arabia has authorized the Nabawi Mosque and the Masjid al-Haram to host weddings. The granting of this license is part of the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah’s initiative to enrich the experience of pilgrims and visitors to the two holy mosques.
In addition, Saudi authorities are drafting regulations to allow the return of marriage ceremonies that were once performed in the two holy mosques. Local authorities will allow anyone to get married in the Nabawi Mosque and Masjid al-Haram, including outsiders, but they have to follow the rules.
Some observers see this initiative as an opportunity for companies to come up with innovative ideas for holding wedding ceremonies at the Masjid al-Haram and the Nabawi Mosque.
