SEAToday.com, Gaza - The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) on Sat(1/27) stated that they will take Israeli politicians and military leaders to the international courts if they will not commit to respect the International Court of Justice’s (ICJ) order, regarding targeting of journalists.

In a statement addressed to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, IFJ President Dominique Pradalié and General Secretary Anthony Bellanger called on killing of journalists in Gaza, with the death toll reaching 10% of the journalists in the enclave. They also alluded to the reports of IDF access to “highly-sophisticated” targeting systems, presuming that the decisions of ”targeting media workers, their families and their homes” are made on individual basis.

The letter presses on the international law which requires state to protect civilians, which includes journalists. Furthermore, they also asked the Israeli leaders to commit and publish specific policies and procedures that ensure the military are complying.
