ESG Performance, Pertamina Decarbonization Surpasses Target 124 Percent
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - PT Pertamina (Persero) has surpassed its decarbonization target for 2023 by achieving scope 1 & 2 emission reduction of 124% of the set target. This achievement is the result of the company's decarbonization innovations, including the sale of B35 biodiesel products that have succeeded in reducing emissions by around 28 million tons of CO2 per year.
Pertamina Vice President of Corporate Communication Fadjar Djoko Santoso said Pertamina's ESG performance through decarbonization innovation is a tangible manifestation of Pertamina's support for the government's target to achieve net zero emissions (NZE) by 2060.
"In supporting ESG performance, Pertamina runs two pillars, namely decarbonizing emissions from business activities and building a green business that produces clean and environmentally friendly energy," said Fadjar.
PT Pertamina (Persero) also innovates decarbonization through the implementation of Carbon Capture Storage (CCS)/Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS) technology in several oil and gas fields, and supports government programs related to the implementation of B35 biodiesel throughout Indonesia.
