SEAToday.com, Medan - Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan (KLHK) ikut turun tangan membantu memperbaiki pengelolaan satwa pada kebun binatang Medan Zoo di Medan, Sumatera Utara.

"KLHK bersama Perhimpunan Kebun Binatang se-Indonesia (PKBSI) menyediakan pendampingan, dalam konteks pembinaan, serta upaya perbaikan pengelolaan satwa di Medan Zoo," sebut Direktur Jenderal Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam dan Ekosistem KLHK Satyawan Pudyatmoko pada Rabu (17/1).

Satyawan menyebutkan bahwa persoalan yang sering dihadapi Medan Zoo salah satunya adalah finansial yang berdampak pada pengelolaan satwa yang belum memenuhi standar. Bentuk pendampingan yang akan diberikan KLHK dan PKBSI antara lain dalam penyediaan pakan, tenaga medis, dan fasilitas.
