SEAToday.com, Gaza - Israel will appear before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague to fight against South Africa’s genocide claim committed by Israel to Palestinians, an Israeli government spokesperson said, Tuesday (1/2).
“The state of Israel will appear before the International Court of Justice at The Hague to dispel South Africa’s absurd blood libel,” Israeli Spokesperson Eylon Levy said.
South Africa launched a case against Israel on Friday, claiming Israel to have breached obligations under the 1948 Genocide Convention, over the death and destruction they have caused to Palestinians in Gaza.
South African spokesperson for South Africa’s Department of International Relations and Cooperation Clayson Monyela said that the country’s lawyers were preparing for the hearing scheduled for January 11 and 12.
