SEAToday.com, Jakarta - PT Transjakarta will change the names of 109 Transjakarta bus stops in Jakarta to neutralize names containing corporate identities.
Transjakarta President Director Welfizon Yuza stated that bus stops with commercial elements would be replaced with the names of the local area. He explained that this was done to generate a new source of income, namely naming rights. He added that some of the bus stops were in the process of selling the naming rights.
Welfizon also mentioned that this decision aligns with the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's target to increase efficiency and optimize subsidies with sources of income other than ticket sales (non-farebox).
The statement came after a post went viral on social media, containing a list of TransJakarta bus stops that will be renamed.
