President Joko Widodo Extands Tenure of KPK Commissioners, Supervisory Board for 1 Year
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo has extended the tenure of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) commissioners and the KPK Supervisory Board. KPK Commissioners and Supervisory Board whose terms expire on December 20, 2023, are extended until December 20, 2024.
Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana explained that the extension of the tenure refers to Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 112/P of 2023 concerning the Adjustment of KPK Commissioners Tenure issued on November 24, 2023. Meanwhile, the extension of the term of office of the KPK Supervisory Board is regulated in Presidential Decree Number 113/P.
Previously, the Constitutional Court (MK) granted an extension of the KPK commissioner's tenure. Through decision 112/PUU-XX/2022, the Constitutional Court stated that the tenure of KPK commissioners was increased from four years to five years.
