Trade Ministry: Indonesia Aims to Declare as Global Muslim Fashion Center by 2024
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Ministry of Trade has stated that Indonesia will declare itself as the world's Muslim fashion center in 2024. This announcement was made by the Trade Ministry's Director General of National Export Development, Didi Sumedi, during the release of Indonesia's halal product export performance on Tuesday (12/19).
Didi emphasized that this declaration aligns with efforts to globally market the country's halal products, following the direction set by President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma'ruf Amin. Various initiatives have been implemented, including the active participation of domestic fashion in well-known fashion weeks such as New York Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, and Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week.
Furthermore, Didi hopes that Indonesia can take center stage globally by concentrating on markets considered pivotal in supporting the prominence of Indonesian Muslim fashion on the international stage.
