Masjid Presiden Joko Widodo di Abu Dhabi Dibuka untuk Umum

SEAToday.com, Abu Dhabi - Masjid Presiden Joko Widodo di Abu Dhabi, Uni Emirat Arab (UEA) resmi dibuka untuk publik sejak Kamis (14/12).

Hadir dalam acara peresmian tersebut Menteri Energi dan Infrastruktur UEA Suhail Al Mazroei, Ketua Awqaf (Otoritas Umum untuk Urusan Islam dan Wakaf) Omar Habtoor Al-Direi, Duta Besar Indonesia untuk UEA Husin Bagis, dan Duta Besar UEA untuk Indonesia Abdullah Salem Aldhaheri.

Duta Besar Bagis dalam sambutannya mengatakan, masjid ini merupakan simbol persaudaraan antar presiden kedua negara, karena masjid Syekh Zayed juga telah dibangun di Solo, Indonesia. Ia juga berharap, masjid tersebut dapat dimanfaatkan dengan baik oleh masyarakat Indonesia dan korps diplomatik di Abu Dhabi dan sekitarnya.

Masjid ini mulai dibangun pada 2021 dan selesai sekitar Oktober 2023. Masjid ini terletak di kawasan diplomatik Abu Dhabi dan dilintasi Jalan Presiden Joko Widodo. Masjid ini berdiri di atas tanah seluas 3.766 meter persegi dan dapat menampung hingga 2.500 jamaah.
