SEAToday.com, Tokyo - PT Pertamina (Persero), JOGMEC Collaborate on Methane Emissions Measurement and Assessment to Accelerate Energy Transition

PT Pertamina (Persero) and the Japan Organization for Metals and Energy Security (JOGMEC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the measurement and assessment of methane emissions at natural gas production facilities in Indonesia.

The collaboration aims to establish a methane emission management system and calculate the carbon intensity (CI) of upstream operations. The initial implementation will take place in Pertamina's upstream areas, namely Donggi Matindok and Joint Operating Body Tomori (JOB Tomori) in Central Sulawesi Province, Indonesia.

This signifies the commitment of both entities to address the issue of methane emissions in the energy sector and drive a more sustainable energy transition.
