SEAToday.com, Banda Aceh - The Banda Aceh City Departmental Police (Polresta) Criminal Investigation Unit has arrested and named Rohingya Muhammed Amin as a suspect in a case of alleged human smuggling to Indonesia.
Banda Aceh Police Chief Fahmi Irwan Ramli said on Monday (12/18) that the suspect was a Rohingya who landed on the shore of Blang Ulam Hamlet, Lamreh Village, Aceh, on Sunday (12/10). Muhammed Amin admitted that he was assigned to invite and coordinate Rohingya people to leave the displacement camp from Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, to Indonesia on condition that they pay a certain amount of money.
Based on the results of the inspection, every Rohingya who wants to leave the Bangladesh camp for Indonesia will be charged 100–120 thousand taka, or around 14–16 million rupiah per person.
