SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Agrinnovation Conference 2025, hosted by Edufarmers and Pemuda Tani Indonesia, concluded on February 22nd and was held with resounding success. The conference was held as part of the Pemuda Tani National Coordinating Meeting and Anniversary, marking a significant milestone in driving agricultural innovation and collaboration in Indonesia. The event brought together 1.960 attendees, including farmers, policymakers, industry leaders, and agritech startups.

A powerful keynote from the Ministry of National Development Planning and Ministry of Agriculture, Rachmat Pambudy and Andi Amran, highlighted crucial pillars of the nation's five-year plan, including targeted policies to significantly increase agricultural output, strategically reduce import dependency, and prioritize the improvement of farmers' economic well-being.

During the event, two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed by JAPFA, BRI, Pemuda Tani Indonesia, and Edufarmers, marking a significant step in their collaborative efforts to strengthen farmer cooperatives. These agreements outline a comprehensive ecosystem designed to provide critical financial resources, empower farmers through training and education, and facilitate access to broader markets.

In a shared panel with Arief Prasetyo Adi (Head of the National Food Agency) and Prof Dadan Hindayana (Head of the National Nutrition Agency) highlighted the potential to achieve 8% Economic Growth through the School Meal Program.

"The 'Makan Bergizi' program is a multi-faceted approach to combating malnutrition and enhancing Indonesia's human capital. By providing nutritious meals in schools, with nutritional education and consistent monitoring, we're investing in our nation's children's future health, intelligence, and productivity." Furthermore, Prof. Dadan Hindayana mentions the program can increase income for farmers and small and medium enterprises as they create stable and constant demand.

H. Arief Prasetyo adds, “The 'Makan Bergizi' program will greatly enhance national food resilience. We are developing strategies to ensure sufficient local raw material supply, thereby reducing Indonesia's dependence on imported products."

The conference not only featured keynotes and insightful discussions on regenerative agriculture, carbon farming, GMOs, and the transformation of subsidized fertilizers but also showcased cutting-edge agritech innovations. This was exemplified by Putri Alam, Director of Government Affairs & Public Policy at Google Indonesia, who emphasized the transformative potential of AI in agriculture, stating, 'AI has the potential to empower farmers with data-driven insights, optimize resource allocation, and enhance decision-making, ultimately improving productivity and sustainability.’

Agrinnovation Conference 2025 catalyzed collaboration and knowledge sharing; in the words of Gita Syahrani, Koalisi Ekonomi Membumi, in closing the conference, "Indonesia's agricultural vision for 2045 is to have an inclusive and resilient agricultural sector that can withstand various challenges, including climate crises. This can only be achieved through collaborative actions, strengthening of agriculture supply chains, including the use of technologies, and lastly the role of farmers as key players who should be dignified to achieve their welfare.”

Agrinnovation Conference 2025 is supported by Google.org and the Ministry of Agriculture. Edufarmers and Pemuda Tani Indonesia would also like to thank Japfa Comfeed, First Resource, Indihome, MMS Group Indonesia, Artha Graha Peduli, Arkara Energi, Pantau, BTN, and other respective sponsors, speakers, and attendees for their invaluable contributions to the event's success.
