Jamu Resmi Jadi Warisan Budaya Takbenda Kemanusiaan UNESCO
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Budaya Sehat Jamu resmi menjadi Warisan Budaya Takbenda Kemanusiaan ke-13 dari Indonesia yang ditetapkan oleh Organisasi Pendidikan, Keilmuan, dan Kebudayaan Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa (UNESCO). Penetapan tersebut diresmikan dalam sidang ke-18 Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage di Kasane, Republik Botswana, Rabu (6/12).
Melalui siaran pers, Rabu (6/12), Menteri Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi (Mendikbud Ristek) Nadiem Anwar Makarim mengatakan penetapan ini akan memperkuat upaya Indonesia untuk melindungi dan mengembangkan Jamu sebagai warisan budaya, serta berkontribusi terhadap kesehatan dan kesejahteraan global. Terlebih, Jamu telah menjadi bagian tidak terpisahkan dari kehidupan masyarakat Indonesia selama berabad-abad.
Sebelumnya, Indonesia berhasil mencatatkan 12 Warisan Budaya Dunia UNESCO lainnya.
