SEAToday.com, Singapore - Singapore's Ministry of Health recorded an increase in COVID-19 cases, reaching 22,094 cases identified from November 19 to November 25, 2023. The number of cases has doubled from the previous 10,726 cases.

Singapore's Ministry of Health explained that there are several factors causing a significant increase in cases, one of which is the population's declining immunity. For this reason, the public is being urged to immediately resume booster vaccinations, especially those who last received a booster six months or one year ago. In addition, the public is encouraged to monitor the progress of their COVID-19 vaccination.

According to Singapore's Ministry of Health, the variant types that dominate the overall cases are the Eris or EG.5 variant and its subtype, HK.3. Both are found in more than 70 percent of COVID-19 cases in Singapore. Although the number of cases spiked within a week, the number of hospitalizations due to COVID-19 still tends to be stable, and there is no spike.
