President Joko Widodo Meets UN Secretary General to Discuss Climate Action and Situation in Gaza
SEAToday.com, Dubai - Indonesian President Joko Widodo held a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations (UN) Climate Conference (COP28) with UN Secretary General António Guterres at the Bilateral Room, Expo City Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Saturday (12/2).
During the meeting, President Jokowi discussed climate action. President Jokowi explained a number of strong and real steps taken by the Indonesian government to address climate change. In his statement, President Jokowi also said that Indonesia appreciates the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP).
"Therefore, Indonesia supports the acceleration agenda in climate finance initiated by the idea that developed countries must help developing countries," said President Jokowi.
In addition, President Jokowi also discussed the situation in Gaza. The President emphasized that Indonesia strongly condemns Israeli atrocities and supports investigations through international mechanisms related to violations committed by Israel in Gaza.
