SEAToday.com, Jakarta - SOE Minister Erick Thohir announced the standardization of cinema taxes. The technical details will be outlined in a presidential regulation, which is claimed to be the legal umbrella for the country's film ecosystem, covering aspects from taxation and licensing to funding.

Through his Instagram account on Monday (11/27), SOE Minister Erick Thohir mentioned that the film tax would be applicable nationwide. The revenue from the tax will be collected by the State Film Production Company, a state-owned company in the Indonesian film sector. The purpose of implementing this tax is to provide state support for national films.
