SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemns the blockade and incessant attacks by Israeli forces in the northern Gaza Strip, which have also affected the Indonesian Hospital in the region.

According to the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the actions of the Zionist army exacerbated the famine and caused the death of more Palestinian civilians in North Gaza.

“The attacks targeting health facilities and medical personnel in North Gaza, including the Indonesian Hospital, are a clear violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and human rights,” the ministry said in a statement on social media on Tuesday.

Indonesia warned that hospitals, medical personnel, and all patients and war victims treated in health facilities must be protected and ensured their safety under any circumstances.

The Indonesian government continues to demand Israel to immediately stop its attacks on all areas of the Gaza Strip, especially North Gaza.

In addition, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is also urged to act decisively to stop the war as soon as possible.

Indonesian humanitarian organization MER-C previously confirmed that an Indonesian hospital in Beit Lahiya, North Gaza, was bombarded by Israeli forces. The attack on the hospital continues to this day.

Dr. Marwan Al-Sultan, Director of the Indonesian Hospital, stated on Saturday ( 10/19) that the Israeli attack, which hit the upper floors of the building, caused the power to go out.

The attack endangered the lives of 40 patients and 15 medical staff who were still in the hospital.

Meanwhile, as reported by the Palestinian news agency WAFA, two patients in intensive care at the Indonesian hospital died on Saturday due to the Israeli attack and blockade that caused a power outage and the supply of essential medicines.

Nearly 42,600 Gazans, mostly women and children, have been killed and nearly a hundred thousand others injured by Israeli aggression that has lasted since October 7, 2023 and now has the potential to trigger regional conflict.

Despite facing international condemnation and violating UN resolutions ordering an immediate ceasefire, Israel has never stopped its attacks on the Gaza Strip.
