President Joko Widodo Dispatches IDR35.5 B in Aid to Papua New Guinea and Afghanistan
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo announced the Indonesian government's humanitarian aid for Papua New Guinea and Afghanistan. The release of the aid, worth 35.5 billion rupiah, was carried out at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, Jakarta, on Monday (7/8).
The aid is intended for victims of natural disasters, namely landslides in Papua New Guinea in May 2024 and earthquakes in Afghanistan in October 2023.
"The assistance we sent to Papua New Guinea was valued at 18 billion rupiah and included medicines, additional food, and hygiene kits. For assistance to Afghanistan, there are 10 types of assistance valued at 17.5 billion rupiah," President Jokowi said.
The President released the delegation by encouraging them to carry out the humanitarian mission to the best of their abilities, maintain safety, and return to Indonesia in good health.
