DK PBB Akan Voting Untuk Keanggotaan Penuh Palestina
SEAToday.com, New York-Dewan Keamanan Perserikatan Bangsa Bangsa (DK PBB) akan melakukan pemungutan suara pada Kamis (18/4) waktu setempat mengenai pengajuan Palestina untuk menjadi anggota penuh PBB.
Palestina kembali menyerahkan surat permohonan untuk peninjauan agar pengajuan mereka untuk menjadi anggota penuh PBB dapat diperbarui. Palestina pertama kali mengajukan pada tahun 2011, meskipun Amerika Serikat (AS) yang mempunyai hak veto sudah berkali-kali menolak pengajuan tersebut.
PBB melalui Majelis Umum dapat menerima anggota baru dengan dua pertiga suara mayoritas dan tidak mendapatkan veto dari lima anggota permanen DK PBB, AS, Inggris, Prancis, Tiongkok, dan Rusia. Sebelumnya, mereka harus mendapatkan rekomendasi dari DK PBB terlebih dahulu.
