SEAToday.com, Tokyo-A Japan Airlines plane is engulfed in flames after landing on a runway at Tokyo's Haneda airport on Tuesday (2/1) evening. Live footage showed passengers fleeing the aircraft using inflatable slides and running away across the tarmac. Japan Airlines says all 379 people on board - passengers and crew - were evacuated.

Fire ripped through the plane which is now nearly destroyed as firefighters battle the blaze. Japan Airlines says the airplane is Flight 516 from New Chitose Airport in Sapporo to Tokyo's Haneda Airport.

The plane collided with what appears to be a Japan Coast Guard aircraft after landing at Haneda Airport. Japan's Coast Guard says its aircraft - which is thought to have collided with the passenger jet - was on its way to Niigata Airport to deliver aid to the earthquake-hit Noto peninsula, according to the news agency Reuters. Due to this accident, five of the six Coast Guard members have not been found.
