Ministry of Public Works Operates 196 km of New Toll Road to Support Year-End Holiday

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) operates 196 km of new toll roads in order to support the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 holiday seasons.
Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo said that in order to support the smooth flow of traffic during the Christmas - New Year 2024/2025 period, there were also additional toll roads operating in 2024 on Java Island for 47.6 km and Sumatra Island for 148.9 km.
“The Ministry of Public Works is committed and continues to strive to improve road transportation services through increasing the length of non-toll roads and toll roads, increasing road stability, including zero potholes and road rehabilitation as well as increasing intermodal connectivity through the construction of port and airport access and improving and integrating the national road network system with regional roads,” he said in Jakarta on Thursday.
The additional toll roads operating on Java Island are the Cimanggis - Cibitung Toll Road Section 2B Cikeas - Cibitung along 19.7 km, Cibitung - Cilincing Toll Road (Cibitung Junction) along 0.4 km, Solo - Yogyakarta - NYIA Toll Road Section 1.1 Kartasura - Klaten along 22.3 km, and Serpong - Balaraja Toll Road Section 1B CBD - Legok along 5.3 km.
The additional toll roads operating on the island of Sumatra are the Indrapura - Kisaran Toll Road Section 2 Lima Puluh - Kisaran along 32.6 km, Pekanbaru - Padang Toll Road Segment Bangkinang - XIII Koto Kampar along 36.6 km, Kuala Tanjung - Tebing Tinggi - Parapat Toll Road Section 3 Tebing Tinggi - Dolok Merawan and part of Section 4 Dolok Merawan - Sinaksak along 45.6 km, and Betung - Tempino - Jambi Toll Road Section 3 Bayung Lencir - Tempino Segment along 34.1 km.
The Ministry of Public Works ensures the readiness of the national road network (non-toll roads) in Indonesia as long as 47,603 km with a steady condition of 93.88 percent and toll roads that have been operational for 3,020.5 km.
“In addition, there are several temporary functional toll roads that are open to the public to support the homecoming flow for Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025. The length of the temporary functional toll road is 120.4 km with details of Java Island 29.98 km and Sumatra Island 90.42 km,” said Dody.
The temporary functional toll roads on Java Island are Jakarta Cikampek II South Toll Road Section 3 Segment Kutanegara - Sadang along 8.5 km, Solo - Yogyakarta - NYIA Toll Road Section 1.2 Segment Klaten - Prambanan along 8.6 km, Probolinggo Banyuwangi Toll Road Section 1 Gending - Krakasan along 12.9 km.
Meanwhile, the functional toll roads on Sumatra Island are Sigli Banda Aceh Toll Road Section 1 Padang Tiji - Seulimeum along 24.6 km, Binjai - Langsa Toll Road Section 3 Tanjung Pura - Pangkalan Brandan along 19 km, Kuala Tanjung - Tebing Tinggi - Parapat Toll Road Section 2 Kuala Tanjung - Indrapura along 10.1 km, and Pekanbaru - Padang Toll Road Section 1 Padang - Sicincin along 36.6 km.
