Pertamina Eco RunFest 2024: A Grand Success with 12,300 Runners Joining the Race for Sustainability
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Pertamina Eco RunFest 2024 took place at Istora Senayan Jakarta, Sunday, November 24, 2024 morning. A total of 12,300 runners from various age categories ran enthusiastically since early morning, enlivening Pertamina's annual event.
This event is presented in order to welcome Pertamina's 67th Anniversary which falls on December 10, 2024. The participants took part in four categories, namely 1.5K (Family Run), 5K (Fun Run), 10K (Student, General and Master) and 21K Half Marathon.
Deputy President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Wiko Migantoro said that public interest in participating in Pertamina Eco RunFest 2024 is increasing from year to year. Previously, 10,000 runners participated, while in 2024 the number of participants reached more than 12,300. Pertamina will continue to be committed in contributing to the Pertamina Eco Runfest event.
“The atmosphere is extraordinary, the participants are increasing. This year it is 12,300 and increasing from year to year. Pertamina contributes to a healthier, fitter life. In the future, we must of course commit to carrying out events like this for mutual joy. Pertamina Eco RunFest 2024 is cool, fresh, fit, productive,” he said.
Meanwhile, Pertamina Persero Corporate Secretary Brahmantya S Poerwadi thanked all participants involved in Pertamina Eco RunFest 2024. With the theme of running for more energy to make Indonesia healthier.
“I represent Pertamina to thank you very much for running together to make ourselves healthier and make Indonesia healthier. Pertamina Eco RunFest 2024 takes the theme of running for more energy. Pertamina's energy, God willing, will be the energy for the Indonesian people to run energy security in Indonesia,” he said.
He added, “I can say that this Eco Run activity has been going on for 11 years and God willing, every year we will run and maximize it, to ensure that runners also enjoy EcoRun and EcoFest more. Run happy, run healthy and finish with a smile.”
One of the public figures and runner, Ditto Percussion, revealed that Pertamina Eco RunFest 2024 has the best quality. He even recommends for the whole community to join this running event for 2025.
“I participated in the 10 KM one. Pertamina Eco RunFest 2024 is the best. Because it was completely sterile throughout the race. Marshalls and everyone involved really supported the race. The participants were also orderly, throwing garbage in its place, that's the most important thing. There were many water stations. I recommend for my friends who join Pertamina Eco RunFest next year, don't miss it because it runs out really fast. Pertamina Eco RunFest 2024 is crazy,” he said.
With the theme Energizing the Change, Pertamina Eco RunFest 2024 is the first carbon-neutral running event in Indonesia that supports decarbonization efforts in Indonesia. In addition, this activity is carried out with the concept of sustainability, including using environmentally friendly materials and waste and waste management, so that it has a positive impact and benefits the environment and society.
Pertamina also supports the empowerment of Indonesian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), as an effort to drive the national economy.
