Jakpro Conducts Test Run on Velodrome-Rawamangun LRT Line

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro), along with PT Waskita Karya, PT Nindya Karya, and PT Len Railway System, has marked a significant milestone in the construction of the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B by conducting a test run on the Velodrome-Rawamangun line on Monday (9/30).
"This test run aims to ensure that the rail system and other technical aspects operate optimally and in accordance with safety standards," said Dian Takdir, Director of Engineering and Development at PT Jakpro.
The test involved a Maintenance Rail Vehicle (MRV) departing from the Velodrome station.
The 6.4 km long LRT Jakarta Phase 1B will serve five new stations, namely Pemuda Rawamangun, Pramuka BPKP, Pasar Pramuka, Matraman, and Manggarai. Construction is being carried out from two sides, namely Velodrome-Pramuka and Pramuka-Manggarai.
"We are optimistic that the construction of the LRT Jakarta Phase 1B Velodrome-Manggarai route will be an effective solution to address congestion and increase the use of public transportation in Jakarta," he said.
Additionally, Jakpro is utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology to monitor the progress of railway construction. This technology enables early detection of quality and design discrepancies and serves as a database for the entire LRT Jakarta Phase 1B project.
"The construction of the LRT Jakarta Phase 1B – Velodrome Manggarai will take 36 months," he added.
