Top 10 Countries with Most Active Volcanoes
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Indonesia, situated in the Pacific Ring of Fire, is home to numerous volcanoes. This geographical location makes the country susceptible to earthquakes but also blesses it with fertile land and rich biodiversity.
According to the latest data from the Smithsonian Institution on June 6, 2024, the United States holds the record for the highest number of volcanoes worldwide with 165, followed by Japan with 121, and Indonesia in third place with 116. However, Indonesia reigns supreme when it comes to the count of active volcanoes.
