According to the latest data from the Smithsonian Institution on June 6, 2024, the United States holds the record for the highest number of volcanoes worldwide with 165, followed by Japan with 121, and Indonesia in third place with 116. However, Indonesia reigns supreme when it comes to the count of active volcanoes.
