SEAToday.com, Jakarta - As many as 500,000 visitors celebrated the New Year in the National Monument (Monas) area on Sunday (12/31), according to data from the area's management.
Head of the Monas Area Management Unit Muhammad Isa Sarnuri said that from 8 pm to 00.00 am local time, there were 529,109 visitors, of which 8 were foreign tourists. He also mentioned that around 80,000 visitors were children.
Hundreds of thousands of visitors were seen crowding the Monas area to the Hotel Indonesia (HI) Roundabout to participate in the 2024 New Year celebrations. In the Monas area, video mapping can be seen projected on the monument. The celebration was also opened by the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono.
