Whoosh Melampaui 1 Juta Penumpang dalam Dua Bulan Beroperasi

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) mencatat kereta cepat Whoosh telah melayani 1.028.216 penumpang selama dua bulan beroperasi secara komersial pada 17 Oktober-25 Desember 2023. Jumlah penumpang tertinggi per-hari mencapai 21.500 penumpang, termasuk pada masa libur akhir tahun.
Menteri Perhubungan Budi Karya Sumadi mengatakan, animo yang tinggi dari masyarakat menandakan kereta cepat sudah menjadi kebutuhan masyarakat. Capaian ini menunjukkan tingginya minat masyarakat akan transportasi umum yang modern dan andal di Indonesia dengan efisiensi waktu tempuh dan kenyamanan.
Senada dengan hal tersebut, Menteri Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN) Erick Thohir mengatakan, Kamis (28/12), kebijakan pemerintah dalam pembangunan infrastruktur transportasi yang cepat sudah tepat dan mendapat kepercayaan masyarakat. Menteri Erick menilai, Whoosh terbukti tak hanya menjadi salah satu solusi kemacetan Jakarta-Bandung, melainkan dapat menumbuhkan ekonomi baru, terutama di Stasiun Tegalluar dan Padalarang.
