Jakarta to Implement Car Free Night on New Year's Eve

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Coinciding with New Year's Eve, the Jakarta Provincial Government will implement a car-free night on December 31 starting at 7 p.m. Western Indonesian Time in the Sudirman-Thamrin area.

In addition, Jakarta Transportation Agency Head Syafrin Liputo said on Tuesday (12/19) that this policy will also be implemented ahead of Christmas.

"So, on Sunday, December 24, 2023, there will be a car-free day and a car-free night," said Syafrin.

Metro Jaya Regional Police has prepared 4,041 joint personnel to secure the 2023 Christmas and 2024 New Year celebrations. On the other hand, the Jakarta Health Agency reminds the public to wear masks and wash their hands, especially for vulnerable groups during the year-end vacation.
