SEAToday.com, UK - The UK government issued new immigration regulations on Tuesday (12/5). This change affects the ability of UK citizens to sponsor a non-UK citizen partner, specifically in terms of the minimum required family income. To sponsor a visa for a non-UK family member, UK citizens must now have a minimum income of 38,700 British Pounds or the equivalent of 48,776 US Dollars.

These regulations were implemented by James Cleverly, the UK Home Secretary, with the aim of curbing the increasing number of immigrants in the UK. In 2022, the number of immigrants in the UK reached three-quarters of a million people. This legislation is anticipated to result in the most significant reduction in the number of immigrants ever witnessed in the UK.
