SEAToday.com, NDUGA - The Para Raider Infantry Battalion 503/ Mayangkara Kostrad, is part of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command (KOOPS TNI) in Papua, which carries out mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Nduga Regency area, Papua Pegunungan Province.

On Friday, 2 August 2024, the 503 Task Forces Patrol Team secured the Krepkuri Village, Krepkuri District, and distributed packages of basic necessities to the Krepkuri Nuns, where the location was on the patrol route.

The Commander of 503 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Gurbasa Samosir, has emphasized to the Soldiers that activities to help people’s difficulties in their assigned areas are the priority in the main tasks of securing the area. Therefore, on Friday morning, the Soldiers took advantage of their routine security duty by distributing packages of basic necessities to the Krepkuri Nuns.

By continuing to prioritize security during activities, harmonious communication interactions between the Soldiers and the Nuns were increasingly being established with the distribution of the basic necessities. The Nuns’ joy was immediately visible from their wide smiles and laughter immediately after receiving the free packages from the Soldiers.

Suster Rosita Sondegau as the Head of Krepkuri Nuns, expressed her impression, "Praise God, thank you Commander 503 for the packages. God bless TNI."

"The initiative of the 503 Task Forces to distribute basic necessities to the Krepkuri Nuns, is the TNI's concern to provide services for the basic necessities of the community to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region," said the KOOPS TNI Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, upon receiving the program report.
