7,000 Police Rehearse for Presidential Inauguration Security Readiness
SEAToday.com, Depok-The Indonesian National Police rehearsed for the inauguration of the elected President and Vice President, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, at the Mobile Brigade Headquarters in Kelapa Dua, Depok, West Java, Friday (10/11).
The rehearsal aims to ensure the readiness of the National Police in maintaining security and public order in providing support for the oath-taking of the elected President and Vice President on Sunday, October 20, 2024.
National Police Chief Assistant for Operations, Commissioner General Verdianto Iskandar Bitticaca, was present to lead the rehearsal. “In total, there are 7,000 personnel,” Inspector General Dedi said at the location, quoted from the National Police’s public relations page.
There are 14 battalions of police units lined up on location. They consist of Mobile Brigade Corps, Criminal Investigation Agency, Security Maintenance Agency, Traffic Corps, Densus 88 Anti-Terrorism, International Relations Division, and the Medical and Health Center.
Troops from the Indonesian Policewomen, troops from the Police Education and Training Institute or cadets, students of the Police Training Institute’s Officer Formation School (Setukpa), and students of the Police Science College (PTIK), were also involved.
