"Receiving an Honorary Doctorate Degree from this prestigious university is an unparalleled honor, which I receive not only for myself but also on behalf of those who have contributed to my journey," the minister said in his remarks after receiving the degree, as reported by Antara.

He said that the award serves as a reminder of every aspect in a lifetime of contribution, not only on knowledge, but also on individual development and the importance of giving back.

All the life lessons he learned from his experiences as a legislator, politician, and government official have given him the capacity to change lives.

The minister said that effectively managing and mitigating challenges can facilitate the emergence of new opportunities and perspectives. "It is through this transformative potential that we can trigger change in our communities and the earth," he continued.

He said the recognition of an Honorary Doctorate demands responsibility to continue to have a positive influence, help others, and uphold the principles embodied in this honorary degree, which are intellectual curiosity, honesty, and dedication to the greater good.

"Our achievements are not defined by titles or awards, but by the lives we influence, the individuals we empower, and the legacies we build," he said.

He continued, "An honorary doctorate degree serves as a reminder that we have the capacity to contribute to causes that go beyond ourselves."

On that occasion, the minister expressed his gratitude to his mentors, colleagues, and leaders who have influenced his journey as a politician, legislator, and minister.

"Their advice is highly needed, and they have unwavering faith in me. I admit that most of my achievements are thanks to them," he said.

Agus Gumiwang also thanked his parents, his wife Loemongga, and his four children, for loving, supporting, and accompanying him all the time.

"I sincerely thank Hiroshima University for this great honor. I accept it with deep humility and am committed to supporting a future where knowledge, collaboration, and compassion will foster a better world," he said.
