PBB Distribusikan Bantuan Kemanusiaan Pertama yang Tiba di Pelabuhan Buatan US di Gaza
SEAToday.com, Gaza - Program Pangan Dunia (WFP) PBB, Rabu (22/5) kembali menyalurkan bantuan kemanusiaan dari pengiriman pertama yang tiba di Gaza melalui jalur laut.
Sejumlah bantuan makanan diturunkan dari dermaga yang dibangun AS, Jumat (17/5), menurut juru bicara WFP, Steve Taravella. Badan Pembangunan Internasional AS (USAID) melaporkan bahwa 21 truk bantuan telah sampai ke organisasi-organisasi kemanusiaan di Gaza.
PBB mengoordinasikan distribusi bantuan di dermaga terapung tersebut, namun tetap bersikeras bahwa pengiriman bantuan melalui jalur darat adalah yang paling “layak, efektif, dan efisien”. PBB mengatakan bahwa setidaknya dibutuhkan 500 truk per hari untuk memasuki Gaza.
PBB sebelumnya terpaksa menghentikan pengiriman bantuan karena kurangnya pasokan dan ketidakamanan. Penutupan titik-titik penyeberangan vital ke Gaza oleh Israel telah meningkatkan krisis kemanusiaan di daerah tersebut.
