SEAToday.com, Kiev - Presiden Ukraina Volodymyr Zelenskyy menandatangani Rancangan Undang-Undang yang merombak aturan mobilisasi tentara Ukraina dalam rangka mengatasi kekurangan pasukan menghadapi invasi Rusia.

Dalam undang-undang tersebut laki-laki di Ukraina wajib memperbaharui data kepada pihak berwenang. Sukarelawan akan menerima lebih banyak bayaran dan juga yang menghindari wajib militer akan dikenakan hukuman tambahan yang baru.

Sebelumnya Presiden Zelenskyy juga telah menandatangani perubahan batas minimal umur untuk menjalani wajib militer yang sebelumnya 27 tahun menjadi 25 tahun.

Hal ini dilakukan saat Ukraina mulai kekurangan jumlah relawan dan banyaknya warga negara yang menghindari wajib militer.

“Badan Intelijen Barat dan Militer Ukraina mengungkap mereka memperkirakan pasukan Rusia akan melakukan sesuatu yang disebut sebagai ‘dorongan bersama’ pada awal musim panas,” kata Charles Stratford dari Al Jazeera.

Sedangkan jumlah pasti tentara yang dapat dimobilisasi belum dapat dipastikan, beberapa personel militer dan analis mengungkap kekhawatirannya bahwa undang-undang ini tidak akan cukup untuk mengatasi kekurangan jumlah tentara Ukraina untuk menghadapi Rusia.
