Erupsi Gunung Semeru Hiasi Langit dengan Abu Setinggi 800 Meter
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Gunung Semeru kembali menunjukkan kekuatan alamnya pada Rabu pagi, (22/01/2025). Erupsi tersebut menarik perhatian dengan kolom abu setinggi 800 meter yang membumbung ke langit.
Petugas Pos Pengamatan Gunung Semeru, Yadi Yuliandi, mengonfirmasi bahwa letusan terjadi pukul 10.20 WIB. Kolom abu yang teramati berwarna kelabu, meluas dengan intensitas sedang hingga tebal ke timur laut.
Erupsi ini tercatat terekam di seismograf dengan amplitudo maksimum 22 mm dan durasi 128 detik. Letusan tersebut merupakan yang keenam sejak pukul 00.01 WIB, dengan dua visual letusan yang teramati jelas.
Sebelumnya, letusan-letusan lainnya tertutup kabut, sehingga tidak tampak secara langsung. Namun, letusan kelima dan keenam berhasil terlihat dengan ketinggian 500 meter dan 800 meter di atas puncak.
Meski demikian, Gunung Semeru masih berstatus Waspada, dan masyarakat diminta untuk berhati-hati. Pusat Vulkanologi dan Mitigasi Bencana Geologi (PVMBG) memberikan sejumlah rekomendasi untuk mengurangi potensi bahaya.
Masyarakat dilarang beraktivitas di sektor tenggara, terutama sepanjang Besuk Kobokan, hingga jarak 8 km dari puncak. Selain itu, radius 500 meter dari tepi sungai Besuk Kobokan juga berisiko bahaya awan panas dan lahar.
Peringatan juga berlaku di radius 3 km dari kawah/puncak Semeru karena risiko lontaran batu pijar. Masyarakat harus waspada terhadap potensi awan panas, guguran lava, dan lahar hujan di sepanjang lembah.
Melalui kewaspadaan dan langkah-langkah mitigasi, bencana dapat diminimalisir. Kerja sama masyarakat dan pemerintah sangat penting untuk menjaga keselamatan semua pihak.
