Government Plans To Have 5000 Heads of SPPG for Makan Bergizi Gratis

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The government plans to have 5,000 heads of Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) to lead the management and operation of Free Nutritious Meal public kitchens in mid-2025.

This was revealed by the Head of the Presidential Communication Office (HCO) Hasan Nasbi. "The heads of SPPG who have been completed, there are probably thousands of SPPGs who are ready. Those who have been educated at UNHAN. Later their placement will be based on the readiness of the kitchens," he said as reported by Antara.

"There are kitchens that are ready, later the SPPGs will be placed there," he added.

Hasan added that the heads of SPPG will later be appointed directly by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). In managing the kitchen, the head of SPPG works with a nutritionist and an accountant to ensure smooth food distribution.

Not only that, he also closely monitors the quality of food and nutritional standards distributed to children and pregnant women.

"Well, in the middle of that year, BGN plans to prepare 5,000 SPPGs to lead 5,000 free nutritious food kitchens. Throughout 2025, the target for MBG kitchens is 5,000. Later, the kitchen heads are required to have SPPGs. So, 5,000 SPPGs are also needed," he said.

For your information, there have been 190 SPPGs or MBG kitchens operating to provide nutritious food as of Monday (6/1/2025). The MBG kitchens are spread across 26 provinces, namely Aceh, Bali, West Sumatra, North Sumatra, Riau Islands, Riau, Lampung, Banten, West Java, Jakarta, Central Java, East Java, Yogyakarta, and Gorontalo.

Next in West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Maluku, North Maluku, East Nusa Tenggara, West Papua, and South Papua.
