All About Tidar Valley, Where President Prabowo Trains Ministers
SEAToday.com, Magelang-President Prabowo Subianto and members of the Red and White Cabinet departed for Tidar Valley, Central Java on Thursday (10/24). President Prabowo will give training sessions to the ministers for several days in the Tidar Valley.
The group departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport at 1:30 PM western Indonesian time using an Air Force plane. The Armed Forces and police personnel will guard several points of roads in the city bordering Yogyakarta while the ministers undergo training from President Prabowo.
During his stay in Magelang, President Prabowo will conduct discussions related to priority work programs and carry out outbound activities to bring the cabinet members closer to each other. Considering that many cabinet members may have just met each other and are working together for the first time, they need chemistry.
One of the places used by President Prabowo and the ministers in Magelang is the Tidar Valley. Tidar Valley is located in the Mount Tidar Botanical Garden area. The word ‘Tidar’ comes from the words Mukti and Kadadar. Mukti means happiness, rank, and success in life, while Kadadar means educated.
Therefore, Tidar means those who want to live happily, rank, and succeed must be ready to be educated, forged, and tested, so that in the future they will become strong people or leaders. The philosophy of this meaning may have made President Prabowo make the Tidar Valley a place to provide debriefing to his ministers.
The Tidar Valley was established on October 31, 1945. It was founded by the People's Security Army Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Oerip Soemahardjo. Tidar Valley is situated at the foot of Mount Tidar. Many candidates of the Military Academy focus on physical training and military strategy. This place is at an altitude of 503 meters above sea level with an area of 701,674 square meters.
Many ministers were enthusiastic about attending the briefing in the Tidar Valley, especially some ministers who graduated from the Military Academy. One example is Transmigration Minister Iftitah Sulaiman, who uploaded a photo of himself with Prabowo at Akmil in 1997. At that time, Prabowo served as Special Forces General Commander.
As a soldier candidate at the time, Iftitah was very impressed with Prabowo’s leadership. Including when he saw Prabowo who came in using a parachute.
“General Prabowo and his troops entered the Military Academy by air. He jumped from the airplane, then free fell, and landed on the Sapta Marga Field, Military Academy. Without a single word, he was “lecturing” how leaders must be: brave, quick to see, quick to decide, and quick to take action. More than that, leaders must dare to take risks. The risk of deployment is life. And he was willing to take the risk of losing his life, for the sake of a ‘leadership lecture’,” wrote Iftitah.
