SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU) unveiled the mascot for the 2024 Jakarta Gubernatorial Election on Saturday (5/25). The mascot, named "Mayor", stands for Macan Kemayoran (Kemayoran Tiger).
Mayor is a friendly yellow tiger puppet dressed in a traditional Betawi outfit, a tikim shirt and red pangsi pants. He also sports a matching cap.
In addition to the mascot, the Jakarta KPU has announced the campaign stages and the official theme song for the 2024 election, titled "Suara Kita Masa Depan Jakarta" (Our Voices, Jakarta's Future). These developments signal that the election is get ready for its scheduled date on November 27.
