Kasus Uang Palsu UIN Makassar, Menag: Kasih Hukuman Seberat-beratnya

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Menteri Agama Nasaruddin Umar menegaskan pihaknya tidak menoleransi oknum pegawai Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Alauddin Makassar yang terlibat dalam kasus uang palsu.
"Saya tegaskan kepada Rektor jangan tedeng aling-aling. Pokoknya siapa pun yang terlibat di (kasus) uang palsu itu, yang mencoreng nama baik institusi terhormat kita itu, ya selesaikan secara hukum. Kasih hukuman seberat-beratnya," tegas Menag Nasaruddin Umar di Jakarta, Jumat, 27 Desember 2024, dikutip dari laman Kemenag.
Bagi Menag Nasaruddin, keterlibatan oknum tersebut telah mencoreng institusi UIN Alauddin Makassar, Kemenag, dan merugikan bangsa Indonesia.
"Bagi saya itu mencemarkan nama almamater termasuk almamater saya sebetulnya ya. Jadi saya minta tindak tegas," tutur Menag.
Menag melanjutkan, "Alhamdulillah Rektor kita ini sangat proaktif juga ya. Melakukan tindakan yang sangat tegas, yang tepat, langsung dikeluarkan, dipecat dengan tidak hormat."
Menag Nasaruddin juga berkomitmen untuk turut serta membersihkan tindakan pemalsuan uang tersebut hingga ke akar-akarnya.
"Kita bersihkan seluruh akar-akarnya. Saya minta berkolaborasi dengan polisi, pihak-pihak berwajib untuk membersihkan seluruh akar-akarnya. Bukan hanya di kampus, tapi juga di Sulawesi Selatan dan seluruh Indonesia," kata Menag.
Ia juga mengingatkan masyarakat untuk tidak terlibat dalam tindak pidana pemalsuan uang.
"Jangan ada yang mencoba-coba untuk melakukan penggandaan uang palsu, sebab polisi kita sangat canggih sekarang. Tidak bakalan tidak ditangkap dan itu gampang dideteksi," pesan Menag.
