Fans Boikot Festival Dunia K-Pop 2024 Usai Izinkan Israel Berpartisipasi
SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Para penggemar K-Pop menyerukan boikot terhadap kompetisi K-Pop World Festival 2024, setelah Kedutaan Besar Republik Korea di Israel menyampaikan keikutsertaan mereka. Hal tersebut menimbulkan kontroversi warganet dan membuat tagar #NoToArtwashingInKpop dan #KpopFestivalOutWithZionism yang mulai bermunculan di media sosial X.
Para penggemar mendesak untuk memutuskan semua keterlibatan dengan Israel, karena negara tersebut terlibat dalam konflik kemanusiaan. Mereka berpendapat bahwa dengan mengizinkan Israel, akan mempromosikan propaganda dan mengabaikan kekerasan yang sedang terjadi di Gaza.
Beberapa penggemar juga telah mengambil tindakan untuk mencegah grup idola favorit mereka dikaitkan dengan festival ini, di antaranya Riize, Kep1er, Stray Kids, dan beberapa grup lainnya yang juga turut mempromosikan festival ini.
K-Pop World Festival adalah kompetisi yang disponsori oleh Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), menghadirkan para pemenang untuk melakukan perjalanan ke Korea dan tampil di K-Pop World Festival di Changwon.
